Bedford Co., VA – A combat veteran comes to Bedford County and gets in the trenches with those who work to protect children.
J.R. Salzman is a wounded warrior who lost part of his right arm in Iraq. He now works as a freelance journalist.
Salzman toured the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force forensic lab Friday.
Salzman is putting together a piece for the online NRA Life of Duty channel.
“It’s very impersonal that I’m covering a lot of inatimate objects. It’s a computer. It’s forensics. But really, what’s the face of this? Well, it’s the face of the innocent children,” Salzman said.
A program started by Sheriff Mike Brown to supply officers with ballistic vests is also being featured on the channel.
A crew was in Bedford County last week getting video for the segment.
