The Safe Surfin’ Foundation will soon be releasing a new mobile phone application to instantly alert you when you are nearing the home of a registered sex offender. The application is the most innovative of its kind, is easy to-use and most importantly, very effective!
The new application, named “The SSF Sex-Offender ALERT,” relies upon the National Sex Offender Registry. Users can insert a zip code or address to see where registered sex offenders live and have the option of setting up an alert to go off when traveling to know when the user is nearing the home of an offender. For example, when a parent drops off their child at a friend’s home or parks their car, they’ll immediately know if they are in a danger zone.
The application saves the user the trouble of having to go onto the Internet and typing in an address before traveling. Instead, the user is warned when entering a potentially dangerous area for their child.
Safe Surfin’ will be regularly updating the application with new information and upgrades as they are developed.
“This application is a great tool for parents and guardians, and it’s only possible because of SSF’s generous supporters who trusted us to make a difference,” said Jason Campbell, Executive-Director of SSF.
